Track Etiquette Reminder
Remember to move to the right lanes
when slowing down during recoveries and especially when you hear
"Track" called by a faster runner behind you. We want to make
sure everybody has a safe and productive workout and that nobody
gets run over - ouch! Please respect other runners as we are all
here to support each other and have fun too. Also, try to stay with your pace group
during the workout. If you're feeling faster than your group
after starting then it's fine to move up to a faster group
during the workout. Likewise, it's also perfectly OK to drop
back to a slower group if you're feeling slower or tired during
the course of the workout. The idea is to stay with a group so
the track doesn't end up getting scattered with a lot of
individuals dodging each other!
Go Steve at 2009 Worlds! Congratulations to our
coach Steve Pye who will be the official head coach of the Team
USA age groupers competing at the ITU Age Group World
Championship in Gold Coast, Australia, in September. Steve is
excited and honored to have this opportunity to help Team USA
perform during the 2009 Worlds. As many of you know, Steve is a
Level II USA Triathlon Certified Coach and offers coaching
services to local athletes through his company Practical
Coaching. His international racing experience and longevity in
endurance sports creates the foundation of his coaching
philosophy. We are very pleased to have Steve be a key part of
Phidippides and offer his skills and experience in developing
and leading our workouts.
